Anupam Khajuria joined United Nations Centre for Regional Development in August 2014 as a 3R Researcher. She conducts research on how 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) and advanced circular economy integrate towards resource efficient policies, plans and improved infrastructures towards sustainable development in Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this position, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow (2012-2014) at the Department of Civil Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), Tokyo, Japan and worked as a Research Associate (2011-2012) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India and worked as a Guest Researcher in Department of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering at Osaka University, Japan. While completing PhD, she worked as a Research Assistant in Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) - Kansai Research Centre, Kobe, Japan. She obtained her Master degree (2005) in Environmental Science (Honors) from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India, and obtained her Ph.D. in the year 2010 from the Department of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, Osaka University, Japan.
