International Journal of Development and Sustainability (IJDS)
IJDS is a peer-reviewed open-access journal, published as the official journal of the International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS), Japan. IJDS is publishing in both ONLINE (electronic) and PRINT (hard-copy) versions. The journal aims to publish papers of high quality and strives to promote scholarly debate across a broad coverage of topics with a flexible editorial policy, accepting submissions in any of the areas within the journal scope which covers all aspects of the environmental, economic, social, and cultural sustainability, including land resources, water resources, energy, agriculture, marine resources, ecology, environmental protection, health risks, education, human relations, labor, social policy, corporate responsibility, law, governance, urban planning, transportation, products & services, management, marketing & financial development, economic development, technological development, and international cooperation & relations.
We invite manuscripts in the above topics from any country or region, however developing countries (and in particular Africa) is a main focus of the journal.
All submitted manuscripts are initially checked by the editorial office for suitability of the topic for IJDS. Once this is done, the manuscripts undergo a rigorous review by our experienced editors or external experts. The reviewers are encouraged to submit review reports by two weeks. The final decision for publication is made by the editorial office based on the reviewers' comments and suggestions. The decisions are normally one of the followings: acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with moderate revisions,acceptance with major revisions, and rejection. The main criteria in considering a manuscript for publication are originality of the work, significance of the topic, appropriateness of the methods, as well as the importance and quality of the findings, results, and implications.
International Journal of Development and Sustainability (IJDS) is a multidisciplinary indexed journal with fast, fair, and professional peer-review. As a scholarly journal with high editorial standards, IJDS is committed to processing all submitted papers with a fast and rapid turnaround, but not with scarifying the peer-review and quality. The editorial staff are making their utmost efforts to collect and send the peer-review results as rapidly as possible under the journal's fast-track publication system.
Open Access and Copyright Policy
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author (This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access). The articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. In order to make articles freely accessible, the author(s) pay 260 USD as article processing charge for each accepted paper (Click for Submission).
Plagiarism, Retraction, and Ethical Policies
In order to maintain high quality publication, IJDS has strong policies on publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism by appropriate tools such as Grammarly, or manually by searching parts of the submitted content in Google Scholar and other databases. Other forms of scientific misconduct such as "duplicate submission", i.e. submitting a manuscript that is under publication or under review elsewhere, or have already been published elsewhere, with the same content or significantly similar content. Scientific misconduct, if detected at any stage of the editorial process, and even after publication of the article, will result in the immediate rejection of the submission, or retraction of the published article; and the processing charge will not be refunded.
Abstracting and Indexing
The articles are abstracted and indexed by Google Scholar, DOAJ, Hochschule Hannover bibliothek, ALBERT, CORE and CiteULike. Abstracting and indexing in more bibliographic databases are seriously under consideration in order to increase the journal's readership, raise its impact and to ensure that it is intended to be read, not deciphered.

ISDS is officially registered with the Japanese government as a private organization. The main activities of ISDS are research, consultation, training, networking, project leadership, content development, and publication, mainly in the fields of sustainability and sustainable development. ISDS membership is FREE.
