To ensure open access to its papers, the journal levies a processing fee of 260 USD on each accepted manuscript, which must be covered by the author(s). This Article Processing Charge (APC) applies only to papers that are accepted for publication; there are no fees required at the time of submission.
Editorial and Peer-Review Workflow
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial assessment by the editorial office to verify the relevance of its topic. Following this preliminary check, manuscripts that align with the journal's scope are subjected to a thorough peer-review process, conducted either by the journal's experienced editors or by external experts in the field. Reviewers are asked to provide their assessments within two weeks, striving to ensure a swift review process. The editorial office makes the final publication decision, considering the reviewers' feedback, which could result in one of several outcomes: acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with moderate revisions, acceptance with major revisions, or rejection. The evaluation of manuscripts hinges on criteria such as originality, significance and relevance of the topic, methodological soundness, and the overall impact and quality of the research findings, results, and their implications.
IJDS offers a fast, fair, and thorough peer-review process. Committed to maintaining high editorial integrity, IJDS ensures the processing of submissions is efficient, aiming for a rapid turnaround without sacrificing the depth and quality of peer review. The editorial team diligently works to provide peer-review feedback as quickly as possible, leveraging the journal's fast-track publication system to meet the needs of authors while upholding the standards of scholarly excellence.
Open Access and Copyright Policy
IJDS is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author (this is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access). The articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. In order to make articles freely accessible, the authors pay a 260 USD article processing charge for each accepted paper (Click for Submission).
Plagiarism, Retraction, and Ethical Policies
To ensure the integrity and quality of its publications, IJDS enforces strict policies regarding publication ethics. Every manuscript submitted undergoes thorough plagiarism checks using reliable tools like Grammarly, or through manual examination by searching segments of the text in Google Scholar and other relevant databases. IJDS strictly prohibits any form of scientific misconduct, including duplicate submissions—submitting a manuscript for publication that is either already published, under review, or being considered for publication elsewhere with identical or substantially similar content. Any instances of misconduct detected at any stage of the editorial process, or even post-publication, will lead to the immediate rejection of the manuscript or the retraction of the article, with no refund of the processing charge.
